I love celebrating America’s Thanksgiving Day this week! We have so much to be thankful for. God instructs us to refuse anxiety and walk with Him in a constant attitude of thanksgiving. Philippians 4:6 tells us that we should “…not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

Several years ago, our family had a financial need. We were living on a very small budget and obeying God in every way that we knew. It was a difficult time, but we chose to be thankful. One day, I was praying for the Lord to provide for us financially. I opened the front door of our home early one morning to go to work, and I saw the most amazing phenomenon. Money was lying all over the place! It was on the front lawn, the porch, and all around the house—even on the back lawn!

You may ask, “How did it get there?” I have no idea. Did it ever happen again? No, but I will never forget it. I am fully convinced that God orchestrated it, and this cash was a huge blessing to us. Our God is a supernatural God who sometimes answers our prayers in a supernatural way. But however He answers, it always pays to be thankful.
