Almost every week I meet someone who is experiencing the pain of an unfulfilled dream. Two weeks ago I was privileged to minister in Europe, this past week in the Caribbean and this week in the USA.  I experienced three different parts of the world within three weeks, but I saw amazing similarities. Three cultures, same Jesus. Three nations, same kingdom. Three churches, same heart to experience all that the Lord has for each of them. Yet in each nation, I also met persons who had experienced unfulfilled dreams.

I find myself drawn to those who are experiencing the deep disappointment of unfulfilled dreams, because I have walked in these shoes personally so many times. I’ve discovered that when we really understand the ways and processes of our God, we can see that unfulfilled dreams become a part of the Lord’s strategy to get us to where we can know Him more intimately and where we are the most fruitful.

Jesus said it like this: “…unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain” (John 12:24). Sometimes our present understanding of our dreams needs to die so the Lord can fulfill them in His way and in His time. The disciples thought it was all over when Jesus went to the cross, but it was only the beginning! Like the disciples, we find that God often fulfills our unfulfilled dreams in amazing ways that are above what we can dream or imagine.

Are you experiencing an unfulfilled dream today? You are in good company. Allow the Lord to take you and your broken unfulfilled dreams to the cross, and He will mold them into His dream. You will become more intimate with Him in the process and the end result, according to Jesus, is the production of much grain…exponential fruit, above all you can ask or think.
